The first seminar of the 2022/2023 cycle, focusing on learning conditions and factors impacting student performance, was held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Lycée Simone Veil in Marseille. Mr. Maxime Travert, university professor, and Maxime Luiggi, lecturer at INSPÉ d'AIx-Marseille Université, questioned during this seminar the impact of physical and sports activity on academic results. The organization of this seminar pursues the following objectives: To show the dynamics of the research project at the heart of Ampiric, based on a concrete case of a project questioning learning. To put into perspective the research underway in the field of research for education, in relation to the learning in question. Dialogue with researchers, teachers, students, national education staff and colleagues in teacher training, to prefigure new projects within the AMPIRIC cluster, as part of participation in actions and response to calls for tenders for the project. We know that physical activity can positively influence academic performance in children and adolescents. Much less is known about the specific association between sports participation and academic performance. This seminar addressed several aspects of these associations. First, an overview of young people's sports practices was presented based on the research work of the two speakers. Then, the relationship between sports practices and academic performance was the subject of a literature review. Finally, a perspective for future research was presented.
