In 2024, the European Education Week’s academic program consisted of two week-long courses by UT lecturers:

  • Course A “Ethical Arguments in the Debate on Sustainable Development” (Dr. Uta Müller, International Center for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities (IZEW), UT)
  • Course B “Mindfulness in Teacher and Student Education” (Dr. Dr. Martin Harant, UT)

In addition, a UT expert have realized a lecture and and a UNI-T teacher have offered one guestlecture :

  • 07.2024 “Teacher Education at the University of Tübingen / the German Education System” (Dr. des. Sibylle Meissner, UT)
  • 08.2024 “Inclusive Education through Action Research” (Dr. Vasileios Tsafos, NKUA)

2024 webinars

European Education Week 2024 – Dr.des. Sibylle Meissner (Tübingen School of Education, University of Tübingen): “Teacher Education at the University of Tübingen / the German Education System”.

She describes the institutional structure and connections of the Tübingen School of Education (TüSE) within University of Tübingen. Furthermore, Sibylle Meissner gives a description of the German education system as well as the structure of the phases of teacher training in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg.

During the speech, Sibylle Meissner and the audience interacted actively. Numerous questions were being asked and discussion points raised by the student teachers.

European Education Week 2024 – Dr. Vasileios Tsafso (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens): “Inclusive Education through Action Research”.

The interactive lecture covers the approach of action research in an inclusive classroom. The lecture focuses on inclusive questions and activities that teachers can applicate to foster a trustful connection with students as well as teamwork opportunities.

Vasileios Tsafos included workshop phases and group discussions into his talk for a more hands-on experience for the student teachers.
