This course offers the opportunity to learn and reflect cultural experiences on a personal and professional level as future teachers. Students will be provided with foundational knowledge on cultural theories and a global awareness approach within an educational context through leading theories of education, (cultural) diversity and (inter)cultural communication. On this basis, the participants independently observe characteristics of transcultural interaction and global awareness features based on their own reflections, research and assignments in different contexts. On this basis students will develop social and intellectual competences for a better mutual understanding in intercultural contexts and foster the ability to make informed decisions in future educational context with heterogenous classes and become critically reflective and informed teachers.
The concept is based on: Feder, L., Cramer, C. & Krämer, H. (2017): Tübingen Teacher Education Portfolio Project. Tübingen Portfolio Teacher Education. Concept.
